A Week in the Life of Squeaky Cleaning

The week opened on a wall of glass. A car showroom out on the national highway hadn't had its windows cleaned in a long while, and the shine was gone under a haze of road dust and film. A deep window clean is patient work. Squeegee, wipe, step back, check the light. By the end of it the glass had disappeared again, which is the whole point. Nobody notices a clean window. They just see straight through it.
Windows carried a good part of the week. The next day put us back on ladders for a law office settling into new space.
Not everything went to plan. A couple of bookings cancelled, one moved twice. That's the job. You hold the slot, stay ready, and fill the gap with the next family who wants a deep clean before the weekend.
Then the small, good ones. A tired three-seater sofa brought back to life. A mattress that hadn't been cleaned since the day it was bought. Curtains for one home, a carpet for another, a massage spa that wanted its rooms fresh for Monday.
It was a full week, and the crew met all of it. Homes, offices, tall glass, and a lot of dust that used to be somewhere it shouldn't be.
Cagayan de Oro kept calling. Squeaky kept showing up.
